Hi everyone, and thank you for taking time to browse my fundraising page for the Organization for Autism Research. My son Knox and I will travel from Maryland to Missouri this October for an autism evaluation at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. For about a year now Knox caregivers, my husband, and I have had concerns for autism in Knox. I have learned so much about autism the past year and Knox presents so many symptoms, and I have felt very alone and stressed with some of those symptoms. One thing I have learned is patience. I have also blamed myself that Knox may potentially have autism. I tell myself I could have eaten better when I was pregnant with him, I could have gotten more sleep, I should have exercised, I should have gotten more sleep. But no one can pinpoint the exact causes of autism. There are many therapies now today that help autistic children, but more can be done. I am dedicating September, October, and November to running, and every mile I run is for my son and all children with autism. I also humbly ask for a small donation so that more research may be done for those with autism. 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with autism, and more can be done to help these children. Thank you so much for considering a small donation
We will be running a 5k on Saturday, November 17th at Watkins Regional Park here in Maryland. Again, thank you so, so much for taking time to view our fundraising page
