Last spring, I felt overwhelmed with emotion as I stood at the start line for the London Marathon. I had worked so hard not just to train—but to also raise money for autism research for OAR. I was surrounded by thousands of other runners at the start line who, like me, wanted to make a difference in the world. We all wore jerseys representing our support for hundreds of charitable foundations dedicated to noble causes like curing cancer, fighting multiple sclerosis, and preserving and protecting life in our oceans.

I felt honored to be part of the charity runners that morning. Raising money for OAR was an amazing experience, one I knew I wanted to do again. So once again I have chosen to run a marathon—the 2018 Berlin, Germany Marathon—to support my nephew Blake and autism research. I want to honor and support those whose daily lives are impacted by autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

I am asking for your support. All proceeds will go to the Organization for Autism Research, a national non-profit organization that funds research and offers resources and scholarships to individuals diagnosed with autism and their families. My goal is to raise $2,500 by September 15, 2018. While running the marathon next fall, I know that each mile will symbolize another step on the road to a better quality of life for those affected by autism. With your help, I will raise the money needed to fund essential research and invaluable resources for autistic kids like my nephew Blake and their families.
