The San Antonio Rock N Roll series will be my first run for charity. I am running in the half marathon with the Run for Autism team to raise money for the Organization for Autism Research (OAR).
I have two nephews with autism, and this is why I am dedicating my run to this cause. I'm excited to raise awareness and fund research that will improve the lives of all people with autism!
I chose to support OAR because they strive to make an impact in the lives of individuals with autism and their families through a focus on applied research & the practical use of its resources. OAR funds pilot studies on topics of more everyday relevance such as education, parent and teacher training, communication, self-care, social skills, employment, behavior and adult and community issues.
Each dollar contributed to OAR is a step toward improving the quality of life for a person with autism! Thank you for your donation! -Angelica
