This is Tristen. Tristen is my amazing, kind, incredibly funny, sweet little boy. When Tristen was three years old he was diagnosed with autism. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that can cause challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, sensory sensitivities, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as many other challenges. Some days are harder than others for Tristen, however that doesn’t change just how truly amazing he is.
On September 9th, 2018 I will be running 26.2 miles at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Via Marathon to raise awareness and money for those whose lives and families are directly impacted by autism.
I will be working with the Organization for Autism Research (OAR) in support of my fundraising. This is an incredible organization that applies research to examine the issues and challenges that children and adults with autism and their families face every day.
I truly appreciate your support and any contribution you can make towards an organization that helps so many understand the world of autism better, and improves not only individuals with autism but their families and communities as well.
