I am proud to be a part of team OAR again this year at the 2018 Marine Corps Marathon.  I had an incredible experience last year as a part of this team.  At the team dinner I was able to learn more about the Organization for Autism Research and that solidified what I already I knew, that I had made an excellent decision in supporting this organization.  I run for my godson, Joshua, as well as for my friends' children, Brenden and Sean.  To know these 3 boys is to love them.  They each have their own special personality and little traits that make me laugh.  I am blessed to have them in my life.  Joshua will be 20years old (gulp) this year.  Watching him on his journey through life as an individual with Autism has been humbling.  I am proud to say that he has accomplished so much in his life and continues to do so.  When I told him last year that I was going to run a marathon because of him, he replied, "I know, Beth.  I am pretty special."  He was correct. 

The mission of OAR can be found on their webpage and states, "We strive to use science to address the social, educational, and treatment concerns of self-advocates, parents, autism professionals, and caregivers.
