This is Mitchell! In 2004 Mitchell was diagnosed with Autism, it threw my world completely upside down. At the time I was not healthy, I was way overweight, my blood pressure was through the roof and it was not a good situation. I knew that he needed me to be healthy and to be the best parent I could be I was going to have to make changes. I started exercising and then for some crazy reason, despite having never run a race in my life, I decided I was going to run the Marine Corp Marathon to raise moeny for Autism. I found The Organization for Autism Research and in 2005 ran my first marathon raising over $20,000!
I then proceeded to run three more in 2006, 2007 and 2008. This change to a healthy lifestyle and change led me to open CrossFit Lorton so that I could help others change their lives.
In 2009 right before running number five I tore my ACL and between that ad getting the gym going I took a break and stopped running. I sold the gym and am now embarking on a new journey and I thought what better way to get back to my roots and what got me here than to run another Marine Corp Marathon for OAR!
I would love your help in hitting my goal of $2,000 raised to support Mitchell and all of the children with Autism.
